Day can include some of the following sites with more or less or no time spent at the various sites:

Short Ferry Crossing – keep an eye out for dolphins and stingrays.  

75 Mile beach – we drive along this breathtaking golden highway featuring stunning ocean view and expansive sandy stretches.

Eli Creek – take a refreshing swim or float lazily down the largest creek on the eastern beach, with almost 100 million litres of clear freshwater flowing daily.

SS Maheno Shipwreck – explore the historic wreck of the SS Maheno, a former passenger liner and WW1 “troop” hospital ship that was shipwrecked in 1935.  Today, it stands as a captivating rusted skeleton on the beach.

Lake McKenzie – Boorangoora.  Absolutely beautiful swimming spot.  Our usual spot for our “Aussie” bush picnic lunch. Fresh salad bread rolls with choice of chicken, ham, beef or vegetarian with fruit salad and even served with complimentary icy cold beer, wine and soft drinks.

Rainforest Walk – Lush sub-tropical rainforest and ferns.

Inland Tracks – no bitumen roads here – definitely 4×4 adventure.

Wildlife – We often see wongari (dingos) – remember they are wild animals.  Treat them with respect and do not feed them.  Also look out for sea eagles and the majestic humpback whales passing on their winter migration from the Great Southern Ocean (Antarctica) to the warmer waters of the Coral Sea.

Indigenous Culture – learn about the Butchulla people, the traditional custodians of K’gari.  Centuries of rich history and dreamtime stories.
